What Loopquill is

Loopquill is a browser-based tool for producers and creators who use YouTube as a source of reference tracks, drum breaks, and sample material. Paste a YouTube link, pull the audio or video to your machine, and load it into your DAW, sampler, or player. No installation, no account, no waiting.

Start on the homepage. Paste a YouTube watch link into the input field — or let Loopquill detect one from your clipboard and offer to fill it for you. Hit Pull. A preview appears showing the thumbnail, title, channel, and duration so you can confirm it's the right track before committing. Pick your format (MP3 or MP4) and bitrate or resolution. Hit Download. The file goes to your browser's download folder.

What stays on your machine

Loopquill doesn't store anything on a server. Your recent downloads appear in the Recent strip below the converter — that list lives in your browser's localStorage and never leaves your device. Clear it any time with the Clear history button, or dismiss individual items with the × button. Closing the browser keeps the list; clearing localStorage removes it.

Browser support

Loopquill works in any evergreen browser: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge on their current stable releases. The clipboard detection feature — where the tool notices a YouTube link in your clipboard and offers to paste it — requires clipboard read permission. Browsers prompt for this on first use. If you decline, paste manually; everything else works the same.

Common questions

Is it safe to use?
Loopquill runs entirely in your browser and downloads files the same way any website does. No executable is installed. Your history stays in localStorage on your device. Review the Privacy page for a full account of what data is handled.
What if the video isn't available?
Private, removed, or restricted videos can't be previewed. The tool will tell you exactly what happened: "This video isn't available. Check the link and try again." Age-restricted videos that require a YouTube sign-in return their own message. No partial pull, no silent failure.
What if the download fails?
If something goes wrong pulling the file, you'll see "Something went wrong pulling the file. Try again." with a Retry option inline. A timeout shows "That's taking longer than expected. Try again." Retrying once resolves most transient cases.
Which formats and qualities are available?
MP3 at 128, 192, or 320 kbps. MP4 at 360p, 480p, 720p, or 1080p. Quality availability depends on what the uploader provided — if 1080p isn't available for a video, Loopquill won't offer it.
Can I pull an entire playlist?
Not in V1. Paste links one at a time. If you paste a playlist URL, the tool will tell you: "Playlist links aren't supported yet — paste a single video link."
